Brick and Beam Construction was founded and is currently operated by Ben Wills.

Originally born and raised in Franklin, TN, Ben moved out west after a couple years in college with a desire to chase the roaring rivers, fish the crystal clear streams, and hunt the mighty big game that can be heard through the canyons in the middle of the night.

After working as a full time outdoor adventure guide leading rock climbing, rafting, and canyoneering trips, he ended up starting his own outdoor guiding company, leading clients on expeditions throughout the high desert canyons in northern Arizona. During this process he began completing ‘one off’ construction jobs with his former employer during the slow season and fell in love with the work. He became intrigued with the construction industry, specifically with the remodeling of homes. Whenever he was back from trips, he would take on side jobs for clients or he would work with contractors he had met along the way. Framing houses, finishing concrete, laying asphalt shingles, remodeling bathrooms and kitchens, and building barndominiums were some of the jobs he was involved in.

Watching the old turn into new, and having excited and happy customers at the end, gave him the same inspiration he received as an outdoor guide which was being able to offer an end view that brought a lasting experience.

In 2018 he was left with a decision: continue the wild adventurous life of outdoor guiding or go full time in the construction industry. You see, guiding, with all its beauty and wildness, comes with a price: spending months on end in the backcountry away from your family. He decided to pack bags, sell his business, and go full time as a tradesman working under other general contractors and learning the skills necessary to have his own construction company. Through the years, he quickly excelled from laborer, to foreman, to project management.

With the ability to lead a group of strangers on week long trips in the backcountry, a pure spirit of the mountain guide, and a solid background and knowledge in general construction, he has the ability and determination to bring clients and their dreams together.
